HIGH RISK WORK ( Formally Prescribed Occupations)
OSM is a Registered Training Organisation (#31490) for:
- Course in Operating Loadshifting Equipment 30496QLD
- Course in Operating Cranes, Rigging and Scaffolding Equipment 30497QLD
An underlying criteria for an applicant to achieve the minimum competency standard is an ability to use the English language at a level that is appropriate to ensure the safe use of the particular class of equipment for which certification is sought.
Assessments are to be conducted without the:
- use of an interpreter
- any instruction, assessment question or document being translated into any other language
- an applicant's response or answer being translated from any other language.
The National Certification Standard for Users and Operators of Industrial Equipment NOHSC 1006 (2001) and guidelines NOHSC 7019 (1992) enforces that "an applicant for assessment shall be from 18 years of age. Training may commence at an earlier age."

OSM will process applications within fourteen (14) working days of completion.
Recognised Prior Learning
Where a person has been operating on-the-job under logbook and has accomplished sufficient hours a RPL process may occur.
Upon completion of a RPL application form and written evidence provided, the Training Development Manager shall review the documentation in order to deem the applicant ready for assessment.
